Trimble Rail Expert Contributes to IHHA’s New 2020 Series of Technical Books on Rolling Stock
The IHHA (International Heavy Haul Association) ‘Guidelines to Best Practices for Heavy Haul Railway Operations’ publications are now available. The core value of these best practice books lies in the experience and knowledge of the chapter leaders and contributors, all of whom are heavy haul experts that collectively have made advancements in the railway industry.
Chris Prebble the Trimble Rail solutions Global Freight Solutions Director authored chapters in both volumes and contributed to another chapter. Throughout his diverse career, Chris has implemented a number of innovative condition-based and predictive rolling stock maintenance initiatives with major freight rail operators. Drawing on this real-world industry experience Chris’s chapters include discussion of topics such as the deployment of condition-monitoring vision systems and machine vision to increasingly replace physical inspection, new approaches to harvesting and utilizing locomotive and operational data in real time, and more.
